On November 30, 2023, the 2023 World AIDS Day themed publicity event sponsored by the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention was held in Beijing. This year, China's World AIDS Day campaign theme is "Converging Social Forces, Joining Hands to Fight AIDS", which aims to further enhance public awareness of AIDS prevention and control, fully mobilize social forces to participate in the work of AIDS prevention and control, and promote the high-quality implementation of AIDS prevention and control efforts. This event was supported by the UNAIDS and the World Health Organization, and jointly organized by the Chinese Center for Health Education, Chinese Association of STD and AIDS Prevention and Control, Chinese Preventive Medicine Association, Chinese Foundation for Prevention of STD and AIDS, and the China Red Ribbon Foundation.

Dr. Erasmus Morah, director and representative of China Office of UNAIDS, praised the Chinese government for consistently prioritizing HIV/AIDS prevention and control in the nation's health and development agenda, and achieving remarkable results. He expressed his full confidence in China's efforts to fight and eliminate AIDS.

The event invited guests from different fields to interpret the theme through on-site speeches and interviews in five aspects: the power of expertise, the power of technology, the power of publicity, the power of care, and the power of society. Additionally, core information on AIDS prevention for junior high school students, the tenth episode of the AIDS testing animation series, and an educational advertisement on AIDS prevention for the elderly population were released. The young students presented stories and scenes of social organizations participating in AIDS prevention and control work in the form of melodrama.
