Under the shared vision of “Community Makes Life Better,” the First Community Development (International) Expo opened grandly on November 13 at the China Western International Expo City in Chengdu. As China’s first international exposition fully focused on community development, this event brought together authoritative and practical forces from home and abroad. It established a matchmaking platform covering eight major professional exhibition zones and sixteen ecosystem-based scenarios, reflecting high-level positioning, strong organizational orientation, and intensive releases of achievements.
The Beijing Changier Education Foundation participated in the expo as part of an integrated “Public Welfare Market” exhibition plan. The foundation highlighted initiatives such as Motherly Love Academies, the public-welfare theatrical film Changier, community worker training programs, and psychological care services combined with artificial intelligence. Through the approach of “technology + emotion + practice,” the foundation has continued to contribute to the building of high-quality communities.
International Participation and Authoritative Voices
The expo was hosted by the China Community Development Association, bringing together institutions from 15 countries and regions and delegations from 28 provinces across China. The event emphasized both exhibition and exchange, as well as the parallel advancement of platforms and ecosystem-based scenarios. At the opening ceremony, several authoritative guests—including Chen Cungen, President of the China Social Work Association; Jin Yong, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering; and Gao Qiang, former Minister of Health—delivered keynote speeches on community governance and people’s livelihood services.
The exhibition zones featured 16 immersive scenarios such as the “Silver-Haired Happy Living Community” and the “Food Rhythm and Firelight Kitchen.” These scenarios showcased the deep integration of humanities, technology, and ecology within communities, highlighting frontier applications including smart security systems, elderly-friendly renovations, and digital social work, while portraying practical visions of future community development.
Participation and Highlights of the Changier Foundation
Under the vision of “planting the warmth of the heart into every community,” the Beijing Changier Education Foundation set up a themed exhibition area as part of an integrated “Public Welfare Market” plan. The foundation focused on four dimensions—family education, psychological care, health science popularization, and talent cultivation—and advocated a comprehensive implementation pathway centered on “project matrices + capacity building + content dissemination.” Through this expo, the Changier Foundation continued to promote high-quality community development with the approach of “public welfare + technology + practice,” enabling love education and mental health services to take root in grassroots communities.
Motherly Love Academy: Leveraging Family Education to Empower Community Units
Relying on the practical cases from 219 local Motherly Love Academies, the foundation systematically presents a methodology of “family values development + parent–child education + community collaboration.”
Through demonstration courses and coordinated activities among families, schools, and communities, these initiatives enhance the positive impact of family education on community cohesion and neighborly mutual support.
Psychological Care and Science Popularization: Responding to Real Needs with Accessible and Engaging Services
The booth set up an interactive mental health science popularization zone, offering community-oriented and low-threshold content on mindfulness, emotional management, and stress identification.
A third-party AI-powered psychological assessment robot “Xiaoxin,” certified by authoritative institutions, was introduced on site for demonstration. Supported by volunteers and professional counselors, 5–10 minute personalized interviews were conducted with participants, providing tailored recommendations such as mindfulness exercises and therapeutic art practices including emotional drawing.
Public-Welfare Film Changier: Conveying Life Education through Light and Shadow
The public-welfare film Changier was developed over six years by the Beijing Changier Education Foundation. It is the first theatrical release in China themed around adolescent HIV/AIDS prevention, with family reconciliation and HIV/AIDS science popularization as its main narrative threads. The film was also selected as a recommended work in the Beijing International Film Festival.
Through realistic and engaging storytelling, Changier integrates scientific knowledge on HIV/AIDS prevention and mother-to-child transmission blocking technology. Scheduled for nationwide release on November 28, the film facilitates joint screenings and themed educational activities in schools and communities.
Talent Cultivation and Base Construction: Ensuring Sustainable Supply through Professional Empowerment
The Taining Training Base of the Changier Foundation was unveiled at the expo, announcing a dual-track training plan of “psychological services + family values development.”
The program focuses on providing psychological support for community workers, guiding family education, and project-based operations, strengthening the professionalization and operational capacity of grassroots teams.
On-Site Responses and Cooperation Progress
Du Mei, Deputy Director of the Academic Committee of the Beijing Changier Education Foundation, delivered a presentation speech on the “Community Main Stage” themed around “planting the warmth of the heart into every community,” outlining the implementation pathway of “public welfare project matrices + technological empowerment + localized execution.”
Community representatives from Sichuan, Zhejiang, Hunan, and other regions conducted on-site discussions and submitted 37 cooperation intentions, covering initiatives such as co-establishment of Motherly Love Academies, psychological care services entering communities, joint screenings, and training collaboration.
During the expo, the integrated “Public Welfare Market” of the Changier Foundation completed multiple rounds of on-site consultation and experiential exchanges, attracted new monthly donors, and formed a closed loop of “content outreach – intention conversion – community implementation.”
The Beijing Changier Education Foundation stated:
“Let motherly love education enter every community family, warm people’s hearts through caring family values, guard mental health as the first doorway through technology, and support sustained services through professional strength. We are willing to work together with all partners to plant the warmth of the heart into more communities.”
Closing and Outlook
The First Community Development (International) Expo gathered diverse forces at a high level and comprehensively presented the professional landscape and practical pathways of community governance in China. From standard-setting leadership to scenario-based innovation, and from social organizations to industry platforms, communities have become a key hub connecting public services, technological advancement, and cultural preservation.
The Beijing Changier Education Foundation will continue to deepen its work across four dimensions—“family education, psychological care, professional empowerment, and content dissemination.” It aims to promote more people-centered, replicable, assessable, evaluable, and sustainable public-welfare programs to take root in communities, enabling inclusive education of love to flourish at the grassroots level. Through these efforts, the foundation will contribute its public-welfare strength to building high-quality communities that are “satisfactory to the people, perceptibly warm, and measurably effective.”
