On November 8, the Fourth Round Table Meeting between China Economic and Social Council and African Economic and Social Councils and Similar Organizations Alliance (hereinafter referred to as the "Round Table Meeting") was held in Shanghai. Wang Dongfeng, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of the CPPCC National Committee, and Chairman of the China Economic and Social Council, attended the meeting and delivered a speech.

In September this year, the 2024 Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation was successfully held in Beijing. President Xi Jinping delivered a keynote speech at the opening ceremony, emphasizing that China and African countries should work together to promote a just and rational modernization, an open and win-win modernization, a people-centered modernization, a diversified and inclusive modernization, an eco-friendly modernization, and a peaceful and secure modernization. This Roundtable Meeting is a pragmatic step to promote the implementation of the outcomes of the 2024 Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation in Beijing and to build an all-weather China-Africa community with a shared future for a new era.

Focusing on the theme "Win-Win Cooperation to Jointly Promote China-Africa Modernization," nearly 60 representatives from the China Economic and Social Council and the African economic and social councils and similar institutions of countries such as Algeria, Benin, Central African Republic, Cameroon, C?te d'Ivoire, Chad, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Morocco, and Zimbabwe participated in the exchange. Participants engaged in frank and in-depth discussions on themes such as "United Efforts to Safeguard Global Fairness and Justice," "Win-Win Cooperation for Shared Development Opportunities," and "Innovative Partnership to Embrace the Fourth Industrial Revolution."

On the topic of "Win-Win Cooperation for Shared Development Opportunities," Zhang Yinjun, Council Member of the China Economic and Social Council and President of the Beijing Changier Education Foundation, delivered a keynote speech titled "Using Philanthropic Love to Boost China-Africa Friendly Cooperation." She noted that the foundation, as a member of the China Economic and Social Council and an institution with special consultative status at the United Nations Economic and Social Council, actively participates in China-Africa cooperation. With the UN platform, the foundation creates a healthy public opinion environment for China-Africa investment and financing cooperation and promotes China's investment achievements in Africa through international conferences and side events, countering Western defamation. Changier also implements multiple aid projects, enhancing the well-being of people in African countries, dispelling unnecessary doubts, and promoting people-to-people connectivity. Furthermore, Changier mobilizes the enthusiasm of enterprises to aid Africa, builds bridges of cooperation between Chinese private enterprises and African recipient countries, creates more investment and financing opportunities, and promotes common development and win-win cooperation.

The participating representatives unanimously agreed that, standing at a new historical starting point, the economic and social councils of China and Africa must strengthen unity and cooperation, further leverage their respective advantages, and actively promote the "Six Proposals" and "Ten Partner Actions" for advancing China-Africa modernization and their global significance. They aim to tell the story of China and Africa co-building modernization, deepen understanding of modernization, and gather consensus and strength for the modernization cause of China and Africa.

During the closing ceremony, with all delegates in attendance, the meeting reviewed and approved the joint declaration of the Fourth Round Table Meeting of the China-Africa Economic and Social Council.

During the meeting, Zhang Yinjun joined Guo Jun, Vice Chairman of the China Economic and Social Council, in a session with the Zimbabwean delegation.
