The 61st session of the CSW, an intergovernmental organization, was held at the United Nations Headquarters in New York on March 13th, 2017.

For the first time, with the theme of "women's economic empowerment in a changing world of work", the conference invited global leaders, NGOs, IGOs, private sector actors, United Nations partners and activists to mobilize and develop strategies, share new initiatives, and take action to promote gender equality and women's rights. The conference aimed to provide a series of precise, practical and action-oriented recommendations to overcome the structural obstacles to achieving gender equality, eliminating gender discrimination and female workplace violence.

Based on the system construction of APEPCY on youth AIDS prevention and sex education during the past ten years, and the efforts of the Nishan World Forum on Women  in maternal education and women's empowerment, Zhang Yinjun, director of APEPCY, executive of the Nishan World Forum on Women, president of Beijing Changier Education Foundation, and president of Nishan Maternal Love Academy, was invited to attend the conference.

In the afternoon of March 20th, she participated in the UN parallel event "Connecting Continents with Peace" organized by the International League for Peace and Sustainable Development at the UN ex-press Hall, and gave an excellent speech in English.

Mrs. Zhang Yinjun introduced the Nishan Forum, the Nishan Women's Forum, the Youth Love Project, and the Mother Love Academy to the conference, which was enthusiastically echoed by the participants. Mrs. Zhang Yinjun was the only Chinese woman spoke at this conference. After the meeting, Xinhua News Agency UN Branch arranged an exclusive interview with her.
