On March 8, the second stop of " Telling Stories of Mothers" was launched in Tonglu. Zhang Yinjun, Chairman of the Beijing Changier Education Foundation (Changier) and Vice Director of the Women and Children Committee of the Central Committee of the China Association for Promoting Democracy, gave a video address. On behalf of Mrs. Zhang, Gao Shuqun, the strategic advisor of Changier, attended the event and gave an introduction.
Chairman Zhang pointed out in her video address that " Telling Stories of Mothers" is a major charity project initiative led by Changier, following General Secretary Xi Jinping's directive to "tell good family stories." Its purpose is to promote sound family traditions and to enhance the national ethos, thereby contributing to the cause of China's modernization. Chairman Zhang recorded the video at the national "Two Sessions" in the NCCPPCC interview room to convey an uplifting confidence and energy from the central government and the people nationwide, in order to encourage and motivate the maternal education in Tonglu. Participants felt the warmth from the People's Great Hall in the capital Beijing.
The conference was hosted by the Beijing Changier Education Foundation and the Tonglu County Civil Affairs Bureau, organized by the Tonglu County Charity Federation, Tonglu County Women's Federation, Tonglu Grassroots Committee of the China Association for Promoting Democracy, and co-organized by the Tonglu County Cares for the Next Generation Working Committee, Tonglu County Education Bureau, Tonglu County Committee of the Communist Youth League, Tonglu County Commission Office for the Protection of Minors, and the Tonglu Modern Elderly Service Association. The theme of the meeting is "Warming Families and Society with Maternal Love". Lei Qidi, Director of the Tonglu County Civil Affairs Bureau, chaired the meeting. Chen Weiqin, the Deputy Director of the Standing Committee of Tonglu County People's Congress and Chairperson of the Tonglu Grassroots Committee of the China Association for Promoting Democracy, attended the meeting and delivered a speech.
Gao Shuqun, the strategic advisor for the Beijing Changier Education Foundation, and Lei Qidi, the Director of the Tonglu County Civil Affairs Bureau, unveiled the plaque for Tonglu Academy of Maternal Education and issued letters of appointment to the dean and mentors of the academy. All departments of Tonglu County read the "Initiative for Supporting Maternal Education and the 'Telling Stories of Mothers' Public Welfare Activity" together. The newly appointed dean of Tonglu Academy of Maternal Education, Guo Hua, introduced the preparations and future plans of the academy. She personally donated RMB 200,000 and the usage rights to two properties to the Tonglu Academy of Maternal Education. Approximately 50 representatives from various sectors attended the meeting and shared their insights through speeches.
Before the meeting, Gao Shuqun and others were invited to the "Xingfuli" community to participate in the Women's Day consolation activity for the elderly. They also visited the Tonglu Academy of Maternal Education, the ancient street area of "Feng Hui Gao Gang" in Tonglu maternal love town, and the historic camphor tree village of Tonglu.
