On June 5, 2026, the Beijing Changier Education Foundation partnered with Shenzhen Bumblebee Education Consulting Co., Ltd. (hereinafter "Bumblebee Education") to launch a "Helping Children in Need" charity companionship activity at Linfen Red Ribbon School in Shanxi Province. Through donating 20 computers and providing immersive companionship, the initiative brought care and warmth to the children.
Visiting the "Only One of Its Kind in China": A School Born from Love
Linfen Red Ribbon School is currently the only full-time school in China dedicated to caring for children infected with HIV. Founded by Guo Xiaoping in 2006, the school grew out of an initial "caring classroom" and has since continued to look after children who face difficulties pursuing education because of HIV. Beyond providing cultural education, the school takes full responsibility for the children's daily care, psychological counseling and future skills training, making it a true "home" for them. Guo Xiaoping was named one of the "Touching China" figures of the year in 2016. The school's current principal, Wang Xia, has carried on this commitment, working alongside the entire faculty and staff to accompany the children as family.
It is precisely this school, carrying such a special mission, that became the destination for this Changier charity companionship visit.
At the Event: Donations, Companionship and Listening: A Day of Warmth on Record
On the day of the event, Bumblebee Education founder and principal Liu Xianjie and executive president Zhu Qinshu led a team of teachers and volunteers from the organization, joining Wang Liusiyu from the Beijing Changier Education Foundation. Accompanied by school founder Guo Xiaoping and current principal Wang Xia, the group toured the campus and learned in detail about the children's daily studies, accommodations, extracurricular activities and overall care.
At the subsequent donation ceremony, the Beijing Changier Education Foundation, together with Bumblebee Education, formally donated 20 computers to Red Ribbon School, helping to further improve the school's teaching and learning conditions.
In her remarks, Wang Liusiyu said, "For decades, the teachers at Red Ribbon School have remained steadfast, building a warm home for these children. Beijing Changier Education Foundation has always paid close attention to their growth and future, helping more children be seen and supported."
Drawing on his own life experience, Liu Xianjie delivered a heartfelt and inspiring talk for the children. He spoke of his difficult early years of schooling, his path to a vocational school after the college entrance exam, and the low points of his life, including a failed business venture and a company's collapse. He encouraged the children: "Life is like handicraft work. It requires patience and persistence. There is no such thing as a good or bad personality. Whether you are introverted or extroverted, you can find your own path. Do not give up easily when facing difficulties, because your family and friends are behind you, supporting you."
During the event, teachers were divided into groups and sat with the children to create handicrafts together, listening to their thoughts through collaboration and guiding them in expressing their emotions. At lunchtime, teachers ate alongside the children, drawing closer through relaxed conversation while carefully observing each child's daily wellbeing.
In-Depth Dialogue: Companionship Is the Best Education
Through a full day of on-site companionship and in-depth discussions, the teachers came to a profound realization: high-quality companionship is the warmest way to safeguard children's mental health.
Principal Guo Xiaoping and Principal Wang Xia noted that the school's teachers have long acted as family members to the children, attending to their daily lives, academic studies, and psychological guidance, while also planning for the long term to cultivate each child's life skills and future integration into society. This philosophy of "whole-person education" closely aligns with the founding mission of Changier.
Looking Ahead
The Beijing Changier Education Foundation will join hands with Big Bumblebee Education and other compassionate social forces to continue reaching out to children in need, translating care into concrete action through companionship, donations, and other means.
Every child deserves to be seen and treated with tenderness.
