In the golden autumn of September in Lingnan, a
"cross-mountain-and-sea maternal love rendezvous" overflows with warmth. On
September 18, 2025, two Indonesian twin mothers in their seventies embarked on a
16-hour journey by airplane, ship, and high-speed rail, finally arriving at the
Lingnan Maternal Love Academy, accompanied by Chou Shang-Guan, Executive
Director of the Chou Ta-Kuan Cultural and Educational Foundation. This historic
visit marked the "first mutual exchange between overseas and domestic Maternal
Love Academies" organized by the Beijing Changier Education Foundation, not only
accelerating the international coordination of the Maternal Love Project, but
also deepening the friendship between the Chinese and Indonesian peoples through
the shared resonance that "maternal love knows no boundaries".
A "mutual encounter" of benevolent destiny
The cross-border obsession of 70-year-old twin
deans
Looking back a year ago, a "bridge of love"
spanning China and Indonesia was quietly built by Taiwan's Chou Ta-Kuan Cultural
and Educational Foundation—President Zhang of Beijing Changier Education
Foundation and the mother of twins formed a connection in Taiwan as both
received the 27th Fervent Global Love of Lives Award from the Chou Ta-Kuan
Foundation. This spring, President Zhang accompanied the Chou Ta-Kuan Cultural
and Educational Foundation from Taiwan on a mission to bring love to Indonesia,
where she reunited with the twin mothers and personally visited the school
buildings they had donated. Witnessing the children who had received their
support and being deeply moved by these compassionate mothers' lifelong
dedication to building countless schools and protecting women and children,
President Zhang immediately made a decision: to join hands with them in
establishing the Maternal Love Academy in Indonesia and appoint both of them as
deans.
Although not present at the scene, President Zhang Yinjun specially recorded a video message with heartfelt words: "I hope that starting from curriculum co-development and resource sharing, the seeds of maternal love education will take root in more countries." The twin deans, determined to bring back China's quality public welfare model, embarked on a grueling 16-hour journey at the age of 70. This unwavering commitment to "bringing love home" deeply moved everyone present. What strikes even deeper is the resonance of "coming home": as third-generation Chinese Americans, the moment the twin deans stepped into the Lingnan Maternal Love Academy, they said with reddened eyes that it "felt like returning to grandma's house"; during meals, they repeatedly murmured "this tastes like mother's cooking". This natural emotional connection serves as the most vivid real-life testament to "maternal love knows no borders".

The Chinese approach to maternal love
education
Ms. Du Mei, Deputy Director of the Academic Committee of Beijing Changier Education Foundation and Deputy Dean of Maternal Love Academy, systematically introduced the development history and curriculum system of the Foundation's Maternal Love Academy. She compares it to a "maternal love cultural puzzle": the unified foundation is Changier's mission to "safeguard the healthy growth of 300 million young people"; while local academies integrate regional characteristics to develop distinctive courses brimming with "local flavor", such as World Book and Copyright Day activities, tea ceremony, and flower arrangement. Du Mei expressed that the Beijing Changier Education Foundation is pleased to share these mature "puzzle methods" and "mentoring experiences" with Indonesian colleagues, "connecting love to create a brighter future for more children and families".
Practice
Lingnan + Chengdu "dual engines" drive
forward
The successful completion of this exchange
would not have been possible without the solid backing from the two Maternal
Love Academies in Lingnan and Chengdu. Chen Xiaoyun, Dean of Lingnan Maternal
Love Academy, introduced the practical achievements of the academy as a
charitable implementation unit of Beijing Changier Education Foundation: Since
its establishment in 2023, the 20-acre love base has hosted charity classes,
traditional Chinese classics recitation, and parent-child activities in
rotation, transforming countless children from "bad-tempered" to "grateful" and
from "afraid to express themselves" to "loving to share". Its vision is "to
ensure every mother is healthy and happy, every family is harmonious and
fulfilling, and every child becomes a person of talent". Lingnan Academy's
meticulous coordination was especially evident throughout this event. From
multiple revisions of the program and open course exhibitions to the seamless
logistics of meals, accommodation, and transportation, every detail reflected a
mission-driven commitment and genuine care. This solid groundwork enabled the
Indonesian delegation to fully grasp the systemic standards of the Changier
Maternal Love Academy and identify a replicable model.
To enable the Indonesian delegation to intuitively experience the characteristics of "one flag, multiple paths", the headquarters of Beijing Changier Education Foundation's Maternal Love Academy specially invited the Chengdu Academy to share its different operational models on-site. Dean Liao Jinru arrived with his story of "transitioning from business to philanthropy" following the Wenchuan earthquake. After listening to the accounts of the twin deans' achievements, he immediately bowed in tribute on the spot. She frankly stated, "As long as we run a business for one day, we will do charity for one day," and confidently promised, "Whether the Indonesian academy lacks courses or encounters difficulties, we will share everything we have without reservation." The "dual case studies" from the south and north allowed the Indonesian delegation to clearly see the "diverse paths under the same banner", which deeply inspired them.

In-depth exchange of educational
philosophies
Wang Changkun, Director of the International Affair Department of Beijing Changier Education Foundation, introduced the Foundation's international status as NGO in Special Consultative Status of the United Nations Economic and Social Council, as well as the grand blueprint for establishing the "University of Human Maternal Love", showcasing the vision of promoting maternal love education globally.
What thrilled the Indonesian delegation most
was the "practical advice" offered during the thematic discussion session.
Instead of abstract theories, it was entirely based on the wealth of "hands-on
experience" accumulated by the Beijing Changier Education Foundation over the
years.
Indonesian representative Julie Feizal first outlined the local needs: improving mothers' educational levels, addressing issues of violence against children, and establishing workshops for batik, herbal medicine, and sewing. However, they are struggling with implementation challenges and practical issues such as mothers being turned away when seeking help. The Chinese side candidly shared China's current situation: Chinese mothers enjoy relatively high status within families and are now focusing more on their children's mental and emotional needs, such as addressing academic stress, social anxiety, and the "lying flat" mindset. When both parties recognized that "religious differences, educational backgrounds, and economic disparities" might pose challenges, Deputy Dean Du Mei from the main branch of Maternal Love Academy promptly introduced a "step-by-step strategy". This approach begins with "interest engagement" to bridge the gap, progresses to "emotional connection" to foster trust, then moves on to "capability empowerment", "family transformation", and "community expansion", culminating in "data-driven feedback" to refine the process. Each stage follows a well-defined path. Additionally, she stressed the importance of "cultural sensitivity alignment," advocating for tailored approaches to avoid a "one-size-fits-all" solution. This advice was a revelation to the Indonesian side, and Julie Feizal was thrilled, offering enthusiastic praise and immediately sharing her insights with the twin deans.
Heartfelt conclusion + future commitment
China-Indonesia maternal love friendship warms
up again
The exchange concluded with tender, intimate details. The delegation visited the Huazhou Juhong Museum, experiencing traditional Chinese medicine culture through the rich history of Hua Juhong; in the evening, they observed a weekend scripture reading class, listening to class teacher Yu Yanfang share her story of rebirth "from wishing I were dead to regaining my youthful smile", and watching student Wu Hongying say in her sweet, childlike voice "I learned to be grateful to my mother". Finally, the twin deans presented the children with small umbrellas and dyed fabrics from their hometown, inviting them to doodle together. Under the vibrant little umbrellas, the Indonesian twin mothers and Chinese children laughed and played, their maternal love and friendship merging seamlessly in this heartfelt moment.

At the time of departure, the Indonesian
delegation repeatedly expressed, "The memories of this day have been so
wonderful. We are returning with hearts full of inspiration and hope, ready to
accelerate progress in our homeland and empower Indonesian mothers."
This inaugural visit holds significance far beyond "a single exchange"
For the Beijing Changier Education Foundation, this represents a "breakthrough battle in global deployment": it marks the first successful validation of the cross-cultural adaptability of the "one academy, one characteristic; ten thousand academies, one banner" system, establishing an "international first-visit paradigm". Moving forward, international collaboration among maternal love academies will be more quality-focused and easier to replicate. For China and Indonesia, this serves as an "adhesive for grassroots friendship". Free from the formality of official diplomacy, it embodies only a mother's love for her children and philanthropists' unwavering commitment to goodness, drawing the hearts of both peoples closer together.
As Beijing Changier Education Foundation envisions: Maternal love knows no boundaries, and public welfare reaches far. In the future, there will be more "cross-border maternal love commitments" that will bring light to more families and continuously strengthen the people-to-people friendship between China and Indonesia through charitable endeavors.
