In the mid May 2016, cooperated with the UNAID Representative in China, APEPCY office carried out a comprehensive survey and evaluation on Changier Hut activities, the benefits to students, teachers, parents and other groups in primary and secondary schools in Yingjiang County, Dehong Prefecture, Yunnan Province.

This evaluation was entrusted to Beijing Institute of Information Control(BIIC). The evaluation team consisted of 6 members from BIIC, 1 from the Project Department of APEPCY and 3 from Yingjiang Workstation. During the one-week survey, the team interviewed 5 directors at the provincial, prefecture and county levels, visited 33 schools (including 2 kindergartens, 18 primary schools, 10 junior high schools and 3 high schools), interviewed more than 160 school principals, teachers responsible for huts, students and parents, and completed more than 100 teacher questionnaires and more than 1800 student questionnaires in total.

Because Dehong Prefecture in Yunnan Province is adjacent to the "Golden Triangle" area, has serious drug problem and severe AIDS epidemic situation. To curb the spread of the AIDS epidemic among local youth groups, APEPCY took Yingjiang County as a pilot sincw 2012. Through establishing work stations, setting up Changier Huts in schools, education of AIDS prevention and control, sex health, mental health, charity and traditional culture were carried out, as well as helping the children and adolescents affected by AIDS.

Over the past three years, the number of Changier Huts in Yingjiang County has increased from the original 6 to the current 61, realized a full coverage from kindergartens to primary and middle schools. AIDS prevention and sex health education activities have been conducted in 185 schools in the county. After the establishment of Dehong Base of APEPCY in September 2015, the number of Changier Huts built in 2 cities and 3 counties (Mang City, Ruili City, Yingjiang County, Lianghe County and Longchuan County) of the Prefecture has reached 93.
