The first Adolescent Life Health and Safety Conference and Sexual Health Science Popularization Exhibition in Guiyang

On November 30th, in anticipation of the 36th World AIDS Day, the first Adolescent Life Health and Safety Conference and Sexual Health Science Popularization Exhibition in Guiyang, themed "Converging Social Forces, Joining Hands to Fight AIDS", were successfully held at the East Campus of Guizhou Normal University. The event was organized by the Office of Guiyang AIDS Prevention and Control Working Committee, Guiyang Bureau of Health, Guiyang Bureau for Disease Control and Prevention, and the Beijing Changier Education Foundation, and co-organized by Guizhou Normal University, the Office of Guiyang Huaxi District AIDS Prevention and Control Working Committee, Guizhou Center for the Exchange and Communication of Traditional Chinese Medicine Culture, and the Red Ribbon Public Health Counseling Service Center of Huaxi District in Guiyang.

On behalf of Ms. Zhang Yinjun, chairwoman of the Beijing Changier Education Foundation, Lei extended congratulations on the successful convening of the first Adolescents Life and Health Safety Conference in Guiyang. He briefly introduced the significant contributions made by Changier to China's AIDS prevention efforts and the development of Guizhou. In recent years, Changier has carried out educational support activities, such as the construction of Changier Huts, teacher training, and assistance for students in need in places like Hezhang, Jinsha, and Anlong in Guizhou. The cumulative input of charitable funds and materials is valued at over RMB 15.5 million. For these efforts, Changier has been awarded the "Outstanding Contribution Award for Assisting Work in the 'Spark Program and Poverty Alleviation through Science and Technology' Experimental Zone in Qianxinan Prefecture" by the People's Government of Qianxinan Prefecture.

Lei presented plaques to the member units of the Guiyang Alliance of APEPCY, including Guizhou Radio TV Station, Guizhou Normal University, The Second People's Hospital of Guizhou Province, Guiyang Maternal and Child Health Care Hospital, Guiyang Center for the Exchange and Communication of Traditional Chinese Medicine Culture, and the Red Ribbon Public Health Counseling Service Center of Huaxi District in Guiyang. He stated that the Beijing Changier Education Foundation would harness its strength to build the Guizhou Alliance of the APEPCY as a public welfare platform with national demonstration significance to assist in the development of western regions. It aims to promote the integration of central-western-eastern areas, apply the experiences and achievements in AIDS prevention and control to Guiyang, and allocate more resources to Guizhou's construction and development to support the health education of Guizhou's youth.

Dialogue and communication

Subsequently, Guo Lili, Wan Ping, Lei Zhitian, Li Dehai, deputy secretary of the Party Branch of the Satellite Center of Guizhou Radio TV Station, and Long Hai, the deputy director of Guiyang Public Health and Treatment Center, engaged in a dialogue and discussion on the theme of "The Important Significance of Social Forces in Promoting the Life and Health Safety of Adolescents and the Prevention and Control Work of AIDS and STDs". This discussion brought together functional departments, schools, media, social organizations, and other parties to jointly seek solutions, discuss, and promote cooperation in youth life safety and disease prevention and control work.

During the event, experts from the Guiyang Public Health Treatment Center, Guiyang Maternal and Child Health Care Hospital, The Guizhou Second People's Hospital, Huaxi District Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital, and the Guizhou Center for Traditional Chinese Medicine Culture Exchange and Communication delivered popular science lectures on "Understanding Aids · Knowing More About Love - A Small Course for HIV/AIDS Popularization," "The Transmission and Prevention of AIDS," "Invisible Trauma - Psychological Stress," "A Discussion on How Traditional Chinese Medicine Addresses Adolescent Mental Health Issues," and "Maintaining Emotional Health through Traditional Chinese Medicine".

This conference included an exhibition area and a forum area. The exhibition area primarily featured displays on sexual health knowledge, and also integrated content on maintaining emotional health through Traditional Chinese Medicine, sexual assault prevention, adolescent physical and mental health, anti-drug, and fraud prevention. The special exhibition areas set up by The Guizhou Province's Second People's Hospital and Guizhou Radio TV Station educated the viewers through vivid images and the audio-visual combination, so that everyone could understand the scientific knowledge of sex education, eliminating the fear of facing the physiological development, establish a correct view of love, marriage and family, stay away from harm, and be the first responsible person of their own health.
