On the eve of the 38th World AIDS Day, Peng Liyuan, Goodwill Ambassador of the World Health Organization for Tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS Prevention, attended the 2025 World AIDS Day themed public awareness event at the Xicheng District Cultural Center in Xicheng District, Beijing. Shen Hongbing, Deputy Director of the National Health Commission and Director of the National Disease Control Bureau; Sun Junmin, Member of the Standing Committee of the Beijing Municipal Party Committee and Minister of Publicity; and Chen Fengfuzhen, Member of the Standing Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and Honorary Director-General of the World Health Organization, also attended the event. The Beijing Changier Education Foundation was honored to be invited to participate. Chairperson Zhang Yinjun, together with some teachers and students from the Linfen Red Ribbon School, as well as foundation staff representatives, gathered to witness this meaningful moment. On December 1, Chairperson Zhang Yinjun presided over a special briefing meeting attended by key personnel from Changier. The meeting was dedicated to conveying, reviewing, and implementing the spirit and important messages of the World AIDS Day themed public awareness event.
The themed public awareness event reviewed the remarkable progress achieved by China over the past 40 years in combating HIV/AIDS through video presentations and personal testimonies, and promoted the understanding and knowledge that HIV/AIDS is preventable and controllable. Peng Liyuan shared her experiences and insights gained from 20 years of participation in AIDS prevention outreach work, encouraging all participants to actively advocate enlightened and civilized concepts of HIV/AIDS prevention, unite their efforts, move forward hand in hand, and persistently strive toward the vision of “Zero AIDS.”

It is reported that the publicity theme for this year’s World AIDS Day in China is “Joint Social Action, Integrity and Innovation, Ending AIDS.” As a public welfare institution that has been deeply engaged in adolescent HIV/AIDS prevention education for two decades, the Beijing Changier Education Foundation launched the film Changier as its key initiative during this year’s World AIDS Day period, using the power of light and shadow to convey the concept of “preventing AIDS through love.” To date, the film Changier has been screened in more than 100 cities across China, with nearly 3,000 preview events held nationwide, attracting positive responses from various sectors of society.
