On the morning of October 30, 2024, the China NGO Network for International Exchanges (hereinafter referred to as CNIE) and the China Association for NGO Cooperation (hereinafter referred to as CANGO) jointly hosted the "2024 Brazil Civil Society 20 (C20) Summit Communication Meeting" in Beijing. Representatives from CNIE, CANGO, Abong, the Beijing NGO Association for International Exchanges, the Beijing Changier Education Foundation, the Chengdu Huizhi Participation Center, and the Shanghai Center for RimPac Strategic and International Studies attended the meeting.
A representative from CNIE introduced the primary purpose and agenda of the meeting, which was to provide support and guidance to organizations preparing to participate in the C20 Summit and G20 Social Summit in Brazil. Wang Xiangyi, Vice President and Secretary-General of CANGO, delivered a welcoming speech at the meeting, sharing CANGO's long-term achievements in promoting Chinese social organizations' international presence and its activity plan for participating in the Brazil C20 Summit in 2024. Julián Oliveira, a board member of Abong, along with Danilo Feno, Project and Coordination Manager, introduced the agenda and interim achievements of the Brazil C20 Summit in 2024. Both speakers also engaged in in-depth exchanges with representatives of Chinese social organizations regarding the C20 schedule, format, and potential cooperation opportunities between Chinese and Brazilian social organizations, aiming to enhance Chinese social organizations' understanding and enthusiasm for participating in the C20 Summit. This communication meeting not only provided a platform for Chinese social organizations to engage with the 2024 Brazil C20 Summit but also further promoted exchanges and cooperation among international civil societies, injecting new momentum into global civil society development.
During the communication meeting, Zhang Yinjun, President of the Beijing Changier Education Foundation, had in-depth conversations with representatives from Abong, focusing on topics related to the protection of women and children's rights and youth education. Brazil has a high level of digitization in youth education. Children exposed to various electronic products from a young age. Brazil places great importance on the protection of women and children's rights. Local NGOs dedicated to this cause and warmly welcoming Chinese social organizations, including the Beijing Changier Education Foundation, to visit Brazil for exchanges and cooperation.
